My name is Isabella Rattalini. I don't remember my first parent's names. All I can remember from that time is being hungry all the time. There were lots of other dogs, and I never got enough to eat. Mom says that's why I like to eat so much now.

My birthday is June 5, 1994. I didn't get to meet my humans until I was 12 weeks old. They wanted a wife for Basil, 'cause he was really lonely when they went to work. One day they just drove up in Dad's red truck. All the dogs barked, but they didn't leave. They got out of the truck and talked to me. I was afraid, but I was excited too. Basil was there, but he stayed in the truck. I was afraid of him at first, but not any more. He gives me any toy I ask for, and we sing together (even tho I don't sing very well).

A couple of days after I went to my new home, while I was still learning all the rules, I got very sick. I heard them say it was pneumonia. I almost died. Doctor Cone helped me get better. But all the tests made me scared to go to the doctor's office. Basil loves to go so he can visit, but it just scares me. I'd rather stay home where it's safe.

When I was two, Basil and I had a litter of puppies. That scared me too. I couldn't figure out what was happening. When the first puppies came, I tried to run away! Mom held me still until I figured out that they wouldn't hurt me. Then it was kind of nice to be a mom. There were six of them, but something happened to two of them. Then there were four...three girls and a boy. We named them Jemima, Peanut, Gracie and Bigsby. I sure did love to let them chase me. When they started to disappear I got so blue. That's when Mom brought home Tuvoc and Neelix. They keep me from missing my babies so much. I still got to see the kids for a while after they found new homes. And sometimes we get a picture from them. I didn't have any more puppies, 'cause it was pretty hard. Now I just play with Basil and our kitties.
